According to Meyer, the book is about losing true love.The title refers to the darkest phase of the lunar cycle, indicating that New Moon is about the darkest time of the protagonist Bella’s life.

The saga continues on November 20, 2009 when the Twilight: New Moon movie premiers in movie theaters around the country. This movie is the sequel to the popular first installment, based on the romance-fantasy novels written by Stephenie Meyer. They follow the love story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, a human girl and a vampire, as well as the dangerous situations they find themselves involved in. In the movie, Bella is portrayed by actress Kristen Stewart, while her male counterpart, Edward, is played by teen heartthrob, Robert Pattinson.

This second movie will chronicle the darker phase of Bella’s life, as she starts to experience the loss of her love, Edward. The movie starts off with the Cullen family throwing an eighteenth birthday party for Bella, when she gets a paper cut. One of the Cullens leaps towards her to feast, but Edward saves Bella from harm. Due to the fact Bella is at risk, Edward says he must leave the town. Bella seeks the comfort and protection provided by her childhood friend, Jacob. However, it turns out Jacob has another side to himself as well. Jacob is part of a tribe and has the ability to transform into a werewolf. This was seen in a popular clip from the movie where he springs into action to defend Bella from a pack of angry werewolves.

The Twilight New Moon movie is sure to be immensely popular amongst many fans who have been starving for more since the first movie. Expect tickets to sell quick, and fans to line up around movie theaters everywhere in anticipation of being the first to see this wildly popular fantasy love story.
